Over a year ago we were faced with a dilema – do we continue to do what we have always done 24/7 or do make that all important decision to do what we have always wanted to do.

You may be asking yourself the self same thing right now. Is there an awareness that something is about to happen in your business or an opportunity that has presented itself and you are not sure whether to go ahead or not? Maybe there is some pain involved somewhere along the line – perhaps it is letting go of a long term client or contract for example or completely changing your business focus.

It is likely that you are having conversations with yourself about what to do, convincing yourself that you are not quite ready yet; that you need more space and more time but it brings to mind the expression “if you always do what you’ve always done you’ll always get what you’ve always got”

So here are our top tips in that decision making process:-

Decide what you want and that you are going to do something about it
Decide what the next step is going to be
Decide how long you will work on achieving the outcome (the goal)
Decide to get help if you need it – a mentor, a consultant etc
Focus on the result of making the decision to change in the first place
Recognise that only YOU can make it happen!

Working with Vets – BSAVA Congress

We are off to Birmingham for the British Small Animal Veterinary Congress where we will be supporting VetiT who are a practice management system provider and will also be taking to practice owners and managers about choosing a computer system.

Having been advising and working in veterinary practices for over 15 years we believe our experience will be hugely helpful.

The internet has given practices a far wider reach than ever before and with the growth of social media, additional client touch points are now within the reach of all practices.

What do you want from your election candidate?

We all have burning issues either in our personal or business lives and the politicians all make generous and sometimes vague gestures.

We thought we would share with you something we are passionate about and that is education for every child worldwide.

We were introduced to ActionAid and their child sponsorship scheme many moons ago and have sponsored many children since – Kumar is the latest edition to our family and lives in Phulwari in India. He is a lovely little boy and we get regular photographs, drawings and updates on his progress.

This brings me to the reason for this blog entry – with the forthcoming election we all have the chance to make a difference by asking our constituency candidates what they are going to be doing about bringing about tax reform – why not read about it here and take action yourself. It takes moments to lend your support but if you want to do more please consider sponsoring a child and giving back to the world.

Thanks for taking the time to read this blog entry albeit an extraordinary one from us.
